In today´s Service we see Jesus take all our carefully constructed ideas of success, blessings, and happiness, and He turns them completely upside down. He challenges everything we thought we knew about who wins and who loses in this life.
So, watch the video as we take an in-depth look at the Blessings and Woes which Jesus told to the crowds.
Thank you to Helen Tudor for our scripture readings, Sharon Rippon for writing the Intercessions read by Rick Boyle, Pastor Keith for the inspiring sermon, and José Cueto for recording the service.
Today we will hear how Jesus gathered His disciples around him
Jesus needed and called disciples, some of whom became apostles to join Him and help Him carry out His work. Just as we, Christian’s today, carry out Jesus’ mission. But do we hear this call to be one of His disciples? Are we willing to take the first steps in following Jesus? Are we prepared to continue His mission today? If Jesus is calling you, will you answer? Many will reject this call, but what about you?
Watch this video to find out what we can do to be true disciples of Jesus. Thank you to Dot Colling for our scripture readings, Brian Todd for the Intercessions, Pastora Jeanie for the inspiring sermon, and José Cueto for recording the service.
Today we are going to be looking at God´s amazing love for all of us.
Right after his Baptism, and the sky opening up with the voice of God saying “This is my son in whom I am well pleased.” Jesus goes to his hometown to preach his first sermon. It didn't go well.
The congregation starts to grumble and then Jesus goes into a little speech which really gets them mad. He tells them two stories in the Jewish history where God shows favours to non-Jews. In both stories of Elijah and Elisha, a miracle happens, and someone is saved who is a non-Jew. There are tons of Jews around but God helps a gentile? What happens next is the crowd tries to throw him off a cliff. Not exactly a glorious homecoming.
It is often hard to accept that God loves the people that we may think have no redeeming value! I would have a very hard time accepting that God loved and offered the same benefits of salvation to someone like Hitler. But he did! I doubt if Hitler took him up on his love, but God loves everyone and wants everyone to accept his offer of love and forgiveness.
So watch the video to find out what we can make of this incident in the life of Jesus.
Thank you to Howard Cook for our scripture readings, Davy Young for the Intercessions, Mark Morris for the Special Music, Rick Boyle for leading our service and José Cueto for recording the service.
